Time Management: Blogger's Edition

When it comes to blogging, I personally know that time can be tight when you have other commitments such as work and family. But, there are several fixes to help Here are some tips to save time when you are blogging.
  • Use a Mass Publisher
To share your blog posts, use a mass publisher to save time in publicizing your posts. I recommend IFTTT (If This Then That) a service that is easier  and more concise than Networked Blogs. IFTTT uses a system called "recipes"
That allow you to customize where and how you want you blog posts to be viewed on social networks. You can use this service with any blog platform. IFTTT has over 47 "channels" that you can publish to and from such as Blogger, Wordpress, Feed (as you see above) and many others. But it isn't just for blogs! For example you can also setup recipes that transfer your photos from instagram to dropbox, Weather to SMS, Weather to Email, etc. I give this service five stars ★★★★★
  • Get a separate email for your blog
I know this doesn't seem like a time saving action, but in the long run it is. Think about it: If you have all your blog related email going to your personal email (which is more than likely already cluttered) then it is easier for items to get lost and/or deleted. Make a separate email so you can easily view you blog related information without hassle.

  • Use a desktop email program
Using a program like Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird can help you sort emails and keep everything on track. When you can group all your emails together, it eliminates having to log in to one website then log onto another.
  • Use "schedule post" function
I don't care what people say about using the scheduled post function, it's a life saver. Think about it: If you have the time to write more than one blog post, but you don't want to post more than once a day, you are not going to just discard that second post, right? Schedule it for tomorrow! Then, when it posts, since you have your mass publisher set up, you won't have to do anything ;)

I hope these quick time management help you stay on top of you blog! Do you have any tried-and-true tips you use? Share in the comments below!
