The Houston Blogger Symposium is the first style blogging conference to be hosted in Houston. Founded by Megan Silianoff, local writer and editor of the blog, Greetings from Texas, the symposium will take place at Hotel ZaZa on Saturday, September 15th from 10am – 2pm. Conferences such as these having been taking place for years in Austin (TX Style Council), Dallas (Bloggy Boot Camp), New York (BlogHer), and Salt Lake City (Alt Summit). Upon noticing that Houston lacked a comparable event, Silianoff developed the Houston Blogger Symposium and curated its panels. Tickets to the event sold out in just two weeks and a waitlist of more than 30 people began to form. Because of this overwhelming interest, Silianoff plans to make this an annual event and host twice as many attendees in 2013.
Speaking at the symposium are renowned, locally based, style and lifestyle bloggers such as Katy Atlas of The Sugarlaws and Kristina Braly of Pretty Shiny Sparkly. Blogger savvy companies such as Reward Style, Francesca’s Collections, and Langford Market will also be presenting, as will founder of one of Central Texas’s leading PR firms, Lisa O’Neill of Newton O'Neill Communications. Silianoff will moderate the panels accordingly. The symposium’s tagline is “Bloggers Bonding over Bubbly” which reflects the fun and feminine nature of the event. Photobooths, swag bags, and a “step and repeat” are part of the event’s festivities. For more information on the Houston Blogger Symposium, visit www.houstonbloggersymposium.com
