Houston's biggest week of fashion kicked off with a bang Monday night. Opening the show was Georges Chakra's Spring 2013 collection. One word I can think of to describe his Spring 2013 line is: SERENE. Something about pastels are so calming. I always think of Easter when I think of pastels, which to me is synonymous with Spring. Light, airy colors and Easter eggs! Of course Chakra had some darker hues in his very impressive collection, but the overall color palette was pastel greens, blues, pink and white. Pantsuits and day dresses mixed with a lot of sparkle and shine.
Laurel Berman - Black Halo & Black Halo Eve Collections
Laurel Berman has made going to work chic! Or even just attending a nice event! In one of her dresses, a woman is sure to impress. I can envision the likes of our First Lady Michelle Obama and the Duchess Kate in her garments. Laurel also showcased her evening gown line with her Black Halo Eve collection.
Rabih Kayrouz - Maison Collection
It's very clear that the light color offering of pastels was not in Rabih's aesthetic for his Spring 2013 collection. Instead he shared with us the art of brown, grey, black and dark blue. Rabih seems to love the look of the A-Line silhouette. I enjoyed the styling with the black riding style rainboots. His collection wasn't completely dark, with a few white and red garments gracing the runway, breaking up the black & grey. He also showed his ability to construct amazing outwear pieces, with me coveting all of them!
Lubov Azria - BCBGMAXAZRIA
Full of vibrant color and print this collection may have been my fave! I've always been a fan of the pieces at bcbgmazazria, and frequently visit the store at the Houston Galleria Mall. Viewing the Spring line on Monday transported me to the beach, on vacation, lounging in amazing apparel and soaking up the rays!!
