Joy Sewing is a veteran journalist and the fashion and beauty editor for the Houston Chronicle. A Houston native, Joy has worked for the Kansas City Star, the New York Post and has written for Money, People, Vibe, Shape, Town & Country and other magazines. She has interviewed hundreds of fashion designers, beauty experts and celebrities, from Oscar de la Renta to Houston’s own Beyoncé Knowles. Joy is a graduate of St. Agnes Academy, holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Houston and a master’s in business from Webster University in St. Louis. A former competitive ice skater, she became the first female African-American skating coach in Houston while still in college. She’s also currently working on her first celebrity style book, Dress Like You Are in Love.
