I'm a Southern girl through and through, born and raised in Tennessee. I went to the University of Tennessee (the real UT!) where I met my husband, and where I also majored in television production. After graduating, I worked in production for HGTV and DIY Network. Little did I know, my husband would soon be getting a fabulous opportunity in Houston. Not ones to shirk away from new adventures, we took the leap and moved from Tennessee to Texas. In Houston, I had the opportunity to find what I was truly most passionate about and go after it. Fast forward to a year later, I am now working for a PR Firm and I have my own style blog!
When I'm not working or blogging, you can usually find me curled up on my hammock with a good book, biking through my neighborhood, or doing some sort of something outdoorsy!
What is your blog about and what are your goals for your blog?
My blog, The Lone Star Looking Glass, is a life and style blog that shares bits about my adventures in Texas, my favorite fashions, and all around personal style with my readers. My goal for my blog is to basically to keep it consistent with things that continue to inspire me. Sounds pretty simple! I hope to keep pushing myself to come up with new and unique ways to style pieces as well as continue to travel and say yes to new opportunities.
What's your favorite thing about being a blogger?
A year ago today, I was about a month into blogging. I had NO idea what I was doing. If I told myself then that one of the best parts of blogging would be the friends that I would make, I would have been shocked! It's amazing what kind of community and friendships can come from such a fun hobby. Blogging has also given me a creative outlet that continues to push me to be more creative and to think outside the box.
Why did you choose to join Houston Fashion Bloggers?
I chose to join Houston Fashion Bloggers to meet other like minded ladies in my new city. Houston Fashion Bloggers definitely showed me what it takes to be a successful blogger and has provided me with countless valuable advice on the subject. The opportunities for new experiences has been endless and I can't wait to see what 2015 brings for this great group.
